Impetus
Lead and devised by SEN’s Social Business Development Manager, Impetus is a dynamic and innovative nine-month wraparound programme of networking, leadership development and support.
The programme launched with a three day interactive study trip to London. We took fourteen dynamic and passionate Merseyside Social Entrepreneurs to visit five of the highest profile Social Enterprises in the Capital.
Impetus participants had the opportunity to meet and pose questions to leading social entrepreneurs like Sophi Tranchell from Divine Chocolate, Women Like Us founder Karen Mattison, Catch 22 founder Tokunbo Ajasa-Oluwa and co-founder and CEO of Coin Street Community Builders Ian Tuckett. They had dinner at Jamie Oliver’s restaurant Fifteen and the Hoxton Apprentice and studied issues like branding, competing with the private sector, managing community involvement, going global and starting up a business against the odds.
The next leg of the programme will look at businesses closer to home and also what we can learn from the commercial sector.
