The Confederation of Social Entrepreneurs (CoSE) is an association set up to promote the interests of social businesses and other third-sector organisations across Merseyside. The Social Enterprise Mark is designed to clearly identify those businesses which meet the criteria, companies that display the Mark are telling the world, very clearly, that they are trading to benefit people and planet, rather than for the sole objective of profit. Applicants need to show that they spend 50% of their profits on socially beneficial purposes and there needs to be evidence that at least 50% of income is from trading. USE Knowsley (Unit for Social Enterprise)
USE Knowsley was established to help the social enterprises in Knowsley grow and develop following research that had been conducted in 2010 which stated in their recommendations that a unit dedicated to social enterprises within the borough was needed to ensure that issues that had been raised could be dealt with.
