Liverpool City Council cuts grant programme from three years to 12 months

Liverpool City Council have cut their Community Grants programme, the cities main voluntary sector funding programme, from three years to one year.

Liverpool City Council's main voluntary sector funding programme will reduce the duration of all of its grants from three years to one year from next April.

The Community Grants programme is currently worth £4m a year. The funding is due to expire in April 2011 and will be replaced with a one-year fund worth £3.7m.

Office for Civil Society cuts number of strategic partners from 42 to 15

The Office for Civil Society is set to cut the number of strategic partners it works with following a significant reduction in funding, with the changes set to take place from March 2011.

The Office for Civil Society has revealed it is to cut its number of strategic partners from 42 to a maximum of 15 and reduce their funding by nearly 40 per cent.

Work Sustainably: Financial Diversification Workshop- Sefton

Social Enterprise Network in association with SELNET (Social Enterprise Lancashire Network) is providing four fully-funded workshops for social enterprises across the Merseyside area. The second in this series of workshops is to be held in Sefton on 22nd September 2010 at the Seaforth Information Network Group (SING), 53a Cambridge Road, Seaforth, Liverpool, L21 1EX from 9.30am to 4pm.

The workshops are designed to help your social enterprise increase turnover through trading and funding and by securing public sector contracts.

Mental Health in the Workplace

Health@Work are offering FREE places to SME's on the 'Impact on Depression' training course for line managers to be held on Monday 23rd August from 1pm-4pm and Tuesday 24th August from 10am-1pm.

This workshop is designed for managers to enhance their knowledge about mental health problems, the relationship between mental health and the workplace and how to manage a staff member who may be experiencing a mental health problem, such as depression or anxiety.

Programme of support to help build safe & productive workplaces

A programme of advice and support is now available to voluntary sector organisations from Capacity Building Plus.

The programme is designed to build the capacity of; and to promote well managed voluntary sector organisations, with improved safety and health for employees/volunteers.

Sense of Sound Summer Singing School

The head of Business Link Northwest is urging small and medium sized businesses to continue making use of its free service while ministers decide on the future shape of government business support.

The coalition government is currently reviewing the delivery of government business support as part of its commitment to replacing Regional Development Agencies with Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) from April 2012.
