The Communitybuilders Fund offers loans, grants and business support. It offers three elements, which are Feasibility, Development and Investment; all are meant to meet the needs of organisations at different stages in their journey to sustainability.

The Investment element of the Fund is for organisations that are ready to grow and expand their role within the community and are on the way towards financial self-reliance through the generation of unrestricted and/or earned income. This part of the fund offers a combination of mainly loans, but also some grant money, of between £50,000 and £2 million over a term of 6 months - 10 years. The interest rate for loans is fixed at 5% for the first 3 years.

Investments can be used for:

• Property and asset investment: for property purchase, development or refurbishment
• Business growth: investment to develop new income streams or expand existing services
• Working capital: loans to support operating cashflow and immediate additional costs as the organisation grows
