Work Sustainably: Financial Diversification Workshop- Sefton
Social Enterprise Network in association with SELNET (Social Enterprise Lancashire Network) is providing four fully-funded workshops for social enterprises across the Merseyside area. The second in this series of workshops is to be held in Sefton on 22nd September 2010 at the Seaforth Information Network Group (SING), 53a Cambridge Road, Seaforth, Liverpool, L21 1EX from 9.30am to 4pm.
The workshops are designed to help your social enterprise increase turnover through trading and funding and by securing public sector contracts.
Social Enterprise and Civil Society organisations are now facing a whole new set of challenges to survive. This interactive workshop helps to prepare for increasingly competitive markets, new commissioning and procurement circumstances and generating income from commercial activity, all while maintaining the ethical social objectives of the social enterprise. At the end of the Financial Diversification workshop particpiants will gain an understanding in:
- The potential for alternative revenue sources and how to access them
- Developing operational plans and milestones from strategic objectives
- Aligning your offer, promotion and therefore increased levels of paid for services
- Opportunities in the Public and Private sectors- providing a solution
- How bids are assessed and what will make commissioners take note of your organisation- your benefits
- What help and assistance is available
Last year's workshops were tremedously successful and some of the comments from particpants included:
'I found it very inspirational and positive. I now know exactly what I need to do.'
'This has made me a lot more aware and hopefully I can go back to our organisation with a better understanding and set goals.'

'Interesting and useful to have a course based on practical research.'
'Did what it said on the box- nothing needs to be different.'

Workshops are fully funded by Capacity Builders and the European Social Fund (ESF) however participants who fail to attend or cancel with less than 24 hours notice will be invoiced for an administration charge of £20.
