NAVCA Tender Support Project
Would you like one-to-one help with tendering for public services? Are you a local charity, community group or social enterprise? The Tender Support Project provides practical consultancy to prepare you for tendering.
The NAVCA Tender Support Project is being delivered through the National Programme for Third Sector Commissioning, led by the Improvement and Development Agency. The project aims to improve the ability of voluntary and community organisations and social enterprises to bid to deliver public service contracts. It does this by providing individual guidance, advice and support. The project runs until the end of March 2011.
Who is the Tender Support Project for?
The project is targeted at local voluntary and community organisations and social enterprises who would like to deliver public sector service contracts and are new or inexperienced in this. You may be thinking about delivering contracts and wanting advice about how to prepare or what you need to have in place for tendering. You may be preparing a tender submission for the first time, or you may have some experience of submitting tenders but have not been successful to date.
What support is available?
The project provides one day (eight hours) of consultancy to help prepare your organisation for contracting or prepare a good quality tender submission. It can be used for any support related to the delivery of public sector contracts. This may include, but is not restricted to:
- Assessment of your readiness for tendering
- Understanding tender requirments
- Guidance and advice on how to approach tenders
- Assessment of policies, systems and procedures for tendering
- Pricing models and organisational pricing structure reviews
- Assessing tender suitability
- Checking pre-qualification questionnaires
- Reviewing and improving draft tender submissions
- Preparing for interviews/presentation with a tender evaluation panel
The support is provided by a specialist consultant that you choose from an appoved consultants list. It can be used for either single or partnership bids. In the case of partnership bids 2-3 day's consultancy may be provided to reflect the complexity of the tender submission. In such cases contact will be with the lead organisation for the partnership.
