Crossroads Care recruiting new volunteers
Local social care charity Crossroads Care Cheshire West and Wirral are in the process of recruiting some extra help to their team this week. In particular they are looking for volunteers to help with fundraising activities.
This is an excellent opportunity to help local people, as well as gain new skills and work experience. Volunteers will have the chance to learn about all aspects of the work carried out by Crossroads Care Cheshire West and Wirral.
Lucy Whiting, Director of Fundraising and Marketing says,
'We are really keen to hear from enthusiastic volunteers who want to help us develop our services for carers and their families. The role is extremely varied; one day you could be writing a funding bid, the next you could be packing bags in a local supermarket!'
Crossroads Care Cheshire West and Wirral provide a range of services to carers and their families. The service aims to offer carers the chance to have a break from their caring role, to re-charge their batteries. The service is often described as a 'lifeline' to carers who benefit, who often have no other forms of support and who are caring for more than 50 hours per week. One carer who has a regular respite break with Crossroads Care Cheshire West and Wirral said of the service:
'We have some quality of life again, I can have some free time, and come back to care for John feeling refreshed, thanks to Crossroads.'
