Red Dot Recycling Week 2009

Arts organisation  Red Dot are staging a recycling week in Liverpool for the second year running.
 
Following the success of the various recycling events they held in 2008, which included Urban Strawberry Lunch  running a workshop held at St Luke'e Church ('The bombed out church), in which musical instruments were created from recycled materials, Red Dot are running a series of mainly art-related events as part of this year's recycling week.  
 
All the events are free to attend.

The Office of the Third Sector has published the cross government response to the recent Social Enterprise Summit. It details the next steps for the four departments who's Cabinet Ministers attended: Department for Communities and Local Government, the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (formerly BERR), the Department for Work and Pensions and the Cabinet Office.

Spirit of Shankly Summer Coaching Camps 2009

War of words breaks out between Sefton Council and charity over new £9.5m water sports centre

A NEW £9.5m Merseyside water sports centre was the subject of a war of words last night.

It follows the decision by Sefton Council to sever its links with Greenbank, the Liverpool-based charity which was to run Sefton Water Sports Centre (SWC).

The 15 winners of the Spark social enterprise competition are to share a combined prize fund of £640,000, it was announced today.

Liverpool City Council Grants for Good Ideas

Community groups in Liverpool can bid for cash to fund projects that benefit their community. Liverpool City Council has made available one off grants of between £150 and £5,000 to support community initiatives which contribute to the well being of residents in every ward of the city.
